Introduction to Sourdough for Friends & Family
Welcome to The Sourdough Society
You're invited to an exclusive, hands-on afternoon at our workshop in Discovery Bay for our very first "Introduction to Sourdough" workshop. This isn't a formal class; it's a gathering of friends and family to learn, laugh, and get flour everywhere.
What We'll Do Together:
We'll dive into the wonderful world of natural fermentation. I'll guide you through the entire process, from nurturing your own living starter to shaping your first loaf. You’ll learn the simple science, feel the dough come alive in your hands, and discover why sourdough is so deliciously good for you.
This is perfect for you if:
- You’ve been curious about my baking but have no idea where to start.
- You love the idea of homemade bread but are intimidated by sourdough.
- You just want to spend a lovely, creative morning together.
What You'll Leave With:
- The Knowledge: A clear, simple understanding of the sourdough process.
- Your Own Dough: A loaf you've shaped, ready to bake at home.
- A Living Souvenir: A jar of our Society sourdough starter to keep your baking going.
- The Goodies: We’ll enjoy coffee, tea, and samples of my latest bakes.
- The Connection: The first official "membership" in our growing community.
What to Wear: Comfy clothes you don't mind getting a little flour on! Aprons provided.
Spaces are limited to keep it cozy and hands-on. Please let me know if you can make it so I can prepare everything for you.
Can't wait to bake with you and share the heart of what The Sourdough Society is all about!
